Title'Salaries for unqualified teachers waiting to be re-examined'
Date1961-1962
DescriptionComprises correspondence and paper from the Cambridge Institute of Education on the subject of the level of salary paid to unqualified teachers waiting to be re-examined. The issue was raised by a number of Principals in the Cambridge area who felt standards would fall as a result of the increased number of students in training colleges. It was felt that it would therefore be necessary to raise the pass standard but the fact that those students who failed and were working in schools whilst waiting to be re-examined were paid a small salary would make Principals reluctant to do so.
