Description | Correspondence between Ethel Froud, A. Muriel Pierotti, Helen Dedman and Florence Key (NUWT), and NUWT members regarding uncertified teachers. The NUWT policy is that after ten years service uncertified teachers should be awarded a service certificate and places on the appropriate point on the scale of salaries for certified teachers. The correspondence covers: NUWT Central Council summary of the main anomalies and difficulties with Board of Education pronouncements and decisions regarding uncertified teachers (after 1945 referred to as 'unqualified teachers' Reports from NUWT members of schemes for uncertified teachers undertaken by their Local Education Committee, such as the payment of additional allowances Enquiries for advice from NUWT members regarding the status of uncertified teachers with regards to conditions placed on the granting of service certificates to uncertified teachers Enquiries from NUWT members as to the NUWT policy on uncertified teachers Salaries of uncertified teachers Appeals for help from unqualified teachers who will miss out on being changed to qualified teacher status due to not having accrued enough years as an uncertified teacher Copy of correspondence between the Minister of Education and the acting Chairman of the Burnham Committees regarding Reports on Salary Scales - sent to Local Education Authorities for their information
