Date | 1963 |
Description | Correspondence received by Jim Annand, Secretary of the English New Education Fellowship, on the UK/Ceylon history text book exchange project. |
Extent | 1 folder. |
AdminHistory | Within the framework of UNESCO project on 'Mutual appreciation of Eastern and Western Cultural Values', the Fellowship developed an exchange text book project. The English/Scottish Sections would write a textbook on the history of Britain designed for children in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) and the Ceylon Section wrote a similar book designed for British school children. The text books were completed but do not appear to have been published. The Fellowship initial proposed a British/Japanese project but the Japanese Section did not have the facilities to write the text book (See WEF/A/II/133). |
