She worked in the UK until joining Bourne School Kuala Lumpur in January 1962 where she worked as a full time teacher and Assistant House Mistress at the girl's boarding house (Arakan House). She returned to England in December 1964 and worked as a special educational needs school in Hertforshire until her retirement in 1993.
