AdminHistoryBeginning as the Brazilian and Portuguese Bank in 1862, the name was changed to the English Bank of Rio de Janeiro in 1866. The Bank was renamed the British Bank of South America in 1891, and conducted operations in Brazil and Argentina. Control passed to the Anglo-South American Bank in 1920. The British Bank of South America went into liquidation in 1936.
