Description	Copies of proposals and associated papers mainly drawn up by the institutions directly responsible for the cohort studies but also by others, particularly in the field of medicine. Some concern the core funding of the cohort studies and others involve secondary analysis of the data. Most were submitted to either the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) or the Medical Research Council (MRC) but also to government departments and charities.
