<p>John Speed's map of the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire, likely to have been removed from a copy of Speed's "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine" (1611/12). Bifolio, with a description of the North and East Ridings and a list of the towns and cities on the reverse and the map (engraving) on the centrefold. </p>
<p>Map of North Yorkshire (engraving) with Latin text. Undated. Appears to have been removed from a volume but no indication of the original source. Bifolio, blank on the reverse.</p>
<p>List of the children of Thomas Smith (senior) and Ann Wharton, with their dates of birth, marriage and death and some extra biographical details. In several hands, the last date recorded is the death of Fanny Pearson, Karl Pearson's mother, in 1905. Appears to have been written on the endpapers and rear pastedown of a book, now loose. With a note about Thomas Smith and Thomas Bethell Smith.</p> |
