Description | <p>The <i>Galton Book</i> Volume I, arranged by Elizabeth Anne Wheler [née Galton]. Manuscript history and scrapbook of the Galton family, with biographies of individuals, descriptions of family properties and coats of arms; plus drawings, letters concerning family history, newspaper cuttings, examples of signatures cut from letters and photographs pasted directly onto the folios or tipped-in. Many of the letters are addressed to Elizabeth's son, Edward Galton Wheler-Galton. and date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
