Three letters from Galton, dated 05 December 1850, lat 22.7 long 17; with addition dated 28 February [1851]; and a letter dated 25 August titled "South Africa". Galton's letters describe his expedition through the Damara lands, his negotiation with Jonker Afrikaner, the Captain of the Namaqua, the methods used for obtaining and breaking in Oxen, and his plans to return to England via St Helena. |
