TitleWynchcombe to Francis Galton
DateMar 1909
DescriptionTwo letters from Wynchcombe [first name unknown] to Galton, regarding Galton's work on E Millais' stud books. Wynchcombe claims that he started the stud book as a supplement to The Kennel Magazine, that Millais did not possess a large collection of hounds, that the data in the stud books is unreliable, and there are no lemon and white Basset Hounds. In his second letter Wynchcombe concedes that Millais may have become active in recording pedigrees since they last met in 1884, but claims that no Basset Hound pedigree could be traced back further than 1860, and that the stud book data is too unreliable.
