Users of this collection should note that the original descriptive terms used by Galton have been given here in quotation marks "". Please be aware that Galton used terms to describe groups of people which were acceptable to his contemporaries but are considered offensive today. UCL does not condone the use of such terms, but where such terminology appears in the material we have retained it in the catalogue description.
