Letter dated 28 March 1898 states that Galton's data is not quite sufficient and that further assumption of 'some kind of law of inheritance' is required - gives the example of 100 mothers with red hair and 100 mothers with black hair and each has one child.Questions the degree to which it is more likely that the child of the red-haired mother will have red hair than a child of the black-haired mother.
