Description
Manuscript letters. Letters concerning his studies on the measurements of beetles, whelks and limpets. Discusses his sister's work. Discusses wording of a circular to promote accurate investigations of variation, heredity and selection. Two enclosures including a printed circular from the Evolution Committee of the Royal Society.
Particular items:
Letter dated 2 May 1897 discusses the education of women.
Enclosure attached with letter dated 10 February 1898 shows his experiments in breeding birds.
Letters dated 5 July 1905 and 27 September 1905 discuss his sweet pea experiments and that he hopes to achieve the gametic ratio the following year (2 enclosures attached).
