| Description | Consists of a collection banner and descriptive card providing a brief history of the collection of casts. Also included are two sets of show cards describing the individual casts. The numbers correspond to those contained in Noel's 'Memoir and notes' (GALTON LABORATORY/5/4/3). One set of 55 show cards are contained in an envelope, the other set are stored in 7 separate bundles;
Bundle 1: Cards with wooden stands, numbers 1-5, 7.
Bundle 2: Cards with wooden stands, numbers 12-13, 15-19.
Bundle 3 - Cards with wooden stands, numbers 20-22, 25-26, 28-29.
Bundle 4 - Cards with wooden stands, numbers 30-40.
Bundle 5 - Cards with wooden stands, numbers 41-49.
Bundle 6 - Cards with wooden stands, numbers 50-51, plus cards for the death mask of Napoleon, a head carved in wood of a Peruvian Inca dog and a scaphocephalic head from Egypt.
Bundle 7 - Cards without stands, numbers 6, 8-11, plus cards for the cast of the head of the late Duke of Portland and a cast of the living head of Mr H Beaufoy. |
