AdminHistoryArnold Mischon, born Slonim, 1879/1880; emigrated from Poland to England; became a rabbi at the age of twenty-two, serving first in Nottingham and then became rabbi at the United Synagogue in Brixton, c1905; of which he was the founder; married Queenie Osler, 1907; he was an authority on Jewish liturgy and contributed to the Soncino English translation of the Babylonian Talmud; died 1935. Publications include: 'Landmarks in the History of the Brixton Synagogue 1906-1931' (1931); articles in the 'Jewish Quarterly Review'. Queenie Mischon, born in the West Country 1878/1879; elementary school teacher; died 1949.
