Chairman, Alderman G. Faudel Phillips, High Sheriff for the County of London. Music by the Coldstream Guards Band, conductor Mr. C. Thomas.

AdminHistoryFounded by Abraham and Benjamin Goldsmid, 1795; Jews' Hospital established in Mile End, London, 1807, as a trade boarding school for the children of poor families and old age home; moved to new premises in West Norwood, 1866. Jews' Orphan Asylum established in London, 1831; merged with Jews' Hospital in 1876 and moved to Norwood; known as the Jewish Orphanage after World War II; name changed to Norwood Home for Jewish Children, 1956; established 9 family homes in 1950s; old orphanage became redundant and was demolished in 1963; began working with adults and children with learning disabilities, 1985; last family home closed in 1992; merged with the Ravenswood Foundation and became known as Norwood Ravenswood, 1996; name changed to Norwood, 2002; now based in Stanmore, it is the UK's largest Jewish charity supporting children and families with learning disabilities or coping with social difficulties.
