Myers, born Kingston, Jamaica, eldest son of Frederick Louis Myers, JP and his wife Fleurette, 1876; educated at Kingston Collegiate School; entered his father's business, Fred L Myers and Son, producers of Myers' Rum, and became a partner at 21; director of many of Jamaica's leading companies; magistrate for Kingston; President of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and Merchants Exchange; placed his fleet of sailing vessels at the disposal of the government during the First World War; Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire; member of the Legislative Council of Jamaica, 1919-1927; commissioner to the British Empire Exhibition, 1924; President of the Jamaica Jewish community, Senior Director, 1942-, where he was instrumental in introducing minor reforms to the services; gave large sums to Jewish and non-Jewish charities, and to war funds.
