AdminHistoryIsaac Duque, born Amsterdam[?], 1888; trained by Rev S J Roco, Hazan (cantor) of Bevis Marks Synagogue; appointed Junior Hazan of the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, Withington, Manchester, 1911; married Julia Roco, 1912; they lived in Amsterdam after the marriage; beadle of Bevis Marks Synagogue, c1920-1962; served as chaplain to the Dutch army in England during World War II; conducted services at Bevis Marks after the war; a founder of the Spanish and Portuguese Lodge of the Order Achei Emeth, member of the order's executive council, Grand Lodge delegate and the order's Grand President, 1935-1938; died 1969. Julia Duque, born 1879, youngest daughter of Rev S J Roco and his wife Simcha; died 1962.
