Description | Letters from B. Barnes and M. Kissenisky relating to the Beth Hamedrash Beth Jacob of Glasgow. The letters relate to the takeover of the premises of the synagogue by Mr L. Greenberg for his business warehouse. The letter of February 1926 asks Gaster, as the synagogue's representative to the Board of Deputies, to bring up the matter of the proposed takeover at the next meeting; the letter of April informs Gaster that since the takeover is going ahead, they will build a new synagogue, and they ask Gaster if they can mention that their scheme is under his patronage. The letter of 6th May from Kissenisky is seemingly in response to enquiries by Gaster before accepting the patronage; he advises that Gaster ask the synagogue for more details about their scheme for the new building and amount of funding. |
