2) Manuscript notes and drafts of treatises on Direct Grant schools, [1964-1967].
3) Papers regarding the effect of the reorganisation on the allocation of free places, 1965-1973, including a letter from the Secretary of the Trust to the Department of Education and Science (DES) suggesting governors should be allowed to allocate free places if the LEA did not want them; list of numbers of free places taken up by LEAs, Sep 1965, 1971; summaries of negotiations between the schools and the LEAs, 1966-1970; and various other papers regarding reorganisation.
4) Miscellaneous documents including a press cutting from 'The Sunday Times' regarding plans for reorganisation in all the local education authorities, 1964; report by the County Borough of Bolton on the system of secondary education to replace the eleven plus examination and selections, Jul 1964; photocopy of a report by the National Union of Teachers 'The Reorganisation of Secondary Education', Apr 1964; and papers regarding an appeal by a Joint Action Committee in Bristol, 1964.
