AdminHistoryLiverpool High School opened at 17 Belvidere Road, Liverpool, on 2 March 1880, with head mistress, Caroline Bolton. Preparatory department opened in 1891; junior school (formerly preparatory department) moved to 19 Belvidere Road, 1911; renamed the Belvedere School, 1912; teacher training department moved to 13 Belvidere Road, 1917; East Liverpool High School merged with Belvedere School, 1921; middle school moved to 15 Belvidere Road, 1923; evacuated to Shrewsbury High School during World War II; junior school moved to 23 Belvidere Road after the War; new class room block opened, 1964; new hall and gymnasium opened, 1978; new laboratories installed, 1980; designated an academy, 2007.
