AdminHistoryNorwich High School opened on 22 February 1875 at Churchman House in St Giles with Miss Ada Benson as the first head mistress with 61 pupils. In 1887 the school moved to the Assembly Rooms in Theatre Street. In 1909 a domestic science department was opened to educate girls over 17. In 1933 the school moved to Newmarket Road where the senior school was based in 'Eaton Grove' (No. 95) and the junior school in the adjoining building named 'Stafford House' (No. 93). In 1940 the domestic science department closed. By 2007 the school had built many additional buildings on the site including Lanchester House, which became the home of the sixth form.
