AdminHistory | Notting Hill and Bayswater High School open on 16 Sep 1873 in Norland Square. The school initially had 10 pupils under head mistress, Harriet Morant Jones. The lease of the building expired in 1883 and the Council purchased the building. The school moved to a purpose built building on Addison Road in September 1884. The school continued to expand into other houses nearby the school, including 152 Holland Park Avenue. In 1922 the school leased No. 3 Landsdowne Road as a boarding house. In 1931 the school moved to a new building on Cleveland Road in Ealing and was renamed Notting Hill and Ealing High School. The school also acquired 54 Holland Park for the preparatory pupils who could not travel to the new school, which was closed in 1934. In 1945 the school purchased 4 Cleveland Road. Later a new junior school was opened in 26 St Stephen's Road. |
