Description | The Secretary was the Chief Officer of the Trust from its earliest days. They were responsible for implementing policy of the Council and drawing the Council's attention to matters which needed consideration. They had overall responsibility for all aspects of the work of the head office and acts as the advisor to the Council, head mistresses and local governors. In the late 1990s the Secretary became the Chief Executive of the Trust as the head of the Senior Management Team. The Chief Executive works closely with the schools, the Council and national bodies on strategy and policy development. Includes files on every Secretary/Chief Executive except Dr S F Hiron, the first Secretary from 1872-1874, and Mr Boal, who was in the post from 1999-2003. |
