Description | Annual Reports and accounts of the Council of the Girl's Public Day School Trust and predecessors. Reports contain various degrees of information across time. Generally reports from 1872-1968 contain balance sheets; information on appointments to and resignations from the Council; important events in the lives of members of the Council, vice-presidents and the Presidents; activities of the President; appointment of headmistresses; finances; closures and opening of schools; school buildings; extra events; donations to the Trust; and share holdings. Very early reports contain details of schools which sent pupils for examinations and schools inspected. Numbers of pupils in schools appear from 1873-1888, 1950-1985. List of names of the President; Vice Presidents and Council appear from 1889-1985, except during World War Two. Reports from 1911 to the 1930s give the names of people on the Music and Art Advisory boards.
Until 1922 the reports and accounts covered the calendar year ending 31 December. From 1923 the reports and accounts covered the financial year ending 31 March. From 1976 the report and accounts covered the academic year ending 31 August. Because of this change there are two reports issued in 1976.
The reports 1968-1985 just include list of members of the Trust; numbers of pupils in each school; principal activities of the Trust; analysis of accounts. Reports from this date are soft bound.
Additional statements of accounts are added to reports from 1923.
There are no reports for 1874, 1922, 1972-1974, 1983-1984, though some supporting papers remain. |
