DescriptionMaterial relating to primary and middle schools work with IT, including reflection, school IT policies and development plan and samples of pupils' work.

Folder 1: The individual record of work by a Year 6 pupil from St Philip's Church and Community School in Warrington demonstrating the use of a variety of software tools and just cursor keys (no mouse). Applications used were: Tiler (a very basic graphics facility); Pendown (a Logo program); Roamer (a floor turtle); Notice Board (a data handling package, including wordprocessor and graph production); Musical Instruments (software for basic sound production) and Grasshopper (basic worksheet software), 1994-1995.

Folder 2: Various examples of pupils' work, with contextual notes for each set. Also included are acetate sheets of 4-5 screenshots of successive stages in the construction of a simple computer drawing by Year 5 pupils in the North of England using a drawing package with limited facilities and only cursor keys (no mouse), 1993

Folder 3: Acetate sheets of displays at a school in East England showing: Year 3 designs of t-shirts produced with the aid of a graphics package; Year 5 using the package to draw class members by accentuating their main facial characteristics, and writing their own descriptions of parts of the body they studied; Year 6 work in English relating to the Harvest Festival, and informative labels for cans of vegetables and fruit, produced with a graphics package, which have been sized to fit the various tins, 1995. Also contains an acetate sheet showing a secondary school library adapted to allow accesss to networked microcomputers and internet facilities. Printing and duplicating facilities are also available.

Folder 4: The IT policy documentation and work of Laisterdyke G.M. Middle School, entitled 'Summary of I.T. Work Undertaken in Year 6', 1998.

Folder 5: Statement on IT by Streetly School, Walsall. It also contains the LEA's detailed analysis of the statements in the NC subjects which include specific references to ICT or IT capability, and sets out a minimum ICT entitlement to pupils, 2001.
