DescriptionFolder entitled "Doiran War Memorial" containing correspondence and telegrams between Giles and D McKillop, British Legation, Athens, and FE Crow, Consul General, Salonica (between July and September 1926), as well as telegrams from Navy Commander regarding the organisation of the ceremony held at Doiran on 25 September 1926.

The correspondence details the diplomatic considerations regarding invitations, the outline preparations, including the arrival of HMS Resolution at Salonica, which supplied 70 marines for the ceremony. The correspondence also covers organisation of special trains to take the delegates to Doiran and a detailed timetable of the event. Additionally, Giles's notes regarding meeting Rear-Admiral Staveley.

The file also includes the official and provisional programmes (in English and Greek) and the detailed naval instructions for the unveiling (HMS Resolution). The programmes and instructions include the names of many of the attendees, including a list of ex-servicemen present in Salonica for the unveiling (dated September 1926). There is also a plan of the top of Colonial Hill, where the memorial is situated (not to scale). Copy of Greek French language newspaper 'L'opinion' with article describing the inauguration (dated 26 September 1926).
