Description | A notebook where George Greenough kept a journal of his experiences and observations as he travelled around Germany in 1799. One of his travelling companions was the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Greenough was based at Göttingen at the time, and travelled to places including the Harz mountains, Kassel, and Brunswick. The journal entries include some sketches of buildings and scenery, and some poetry. |
