DescriptionThe vast majority of the items in this file are handwritten letters to George Greenough from Dr William Richardson, rector of the parish of Clonfeacle in the county of Tyrone, Ireland. These letters include:

- Discussion regarding society in Ireland, particularly religion and the administration of justice.
- A large amount of correspondence regarding 'fiorin' grass, including handwritten essays.
- Some general discussion regarding geology and agriculture.

This file also includes:

- A printed letter to the local gentry in Tyrone, appealing for funding for the church roof.
- Some forwarded letters of local people who have written to Dr Richardson regarding religion and religious conflict in the area between Catholics and Protestants, going back to 1796.
- Correspondence with staff at the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich, and printed circulars from the Academy. Greenough intervened regarding the treatment of Dr Richardson's son at the Academy.
- Two letters to Greenough from Dr Richardson's son, requesting his assistance with his army career.
- Some transcripts of letters in Greenough's handwriting.
- Draft letters of Greenough's.
- A letter to Decimus Burton from James Weale (1834), thanking Greenough for giving access to the late Dr Richardson's letters.

The correspondence between Greenough and Dr Richardson covers the years 1807-1819 only.
