Henry Laurens answers on behalf of John Adam, Benjamin Francklin and John Grey, to whom the original petition had been sent to. He is from South Carolina and was well acquainted with the late Hector De Bérenger, Jean's uncle. Henry Laurens believes that it should be possible for the lands to be returned or for compensation to be agreed after receiving proof of Jean's rights as heir. |
