AdminHistoryLouis De la Balle emigrated from Guînes near Calais to England in August 1743 at the age of 73, to join his son François. The French and English members of the family continued to correspond, although some of those remaining in France had conformed to Catholicism. The situation gave rise to difficulties concerning property.
AcquisitionAcquired by William Minet, and presented by him to the Huguenot Library in 1927.
