Title | Letter from Jean François De Luc to his father Jean André De Luc |
Date | 9 Feb 1776 |
Description | Talking about the recent and unexpected death of his aunt Vieusseux and her funeral, to which he went on his father's behalf. Jean François also recounts the events following the death of Mr D'Huc. He explains that his uncle had always believed that Mr D'Huc had not died of natural causes but had indeed been poisoned with a powder found on his hands at the time of his death. Jean François' uncle had finally convinced the authorities to test the powder. They had concluded that it was not arsenic and that Mr D'Huc had died of a fever and had not been murdered. |
