Title | Letter from Jean François De Luc, in Amsterdam to his father Jean André De Luc, in Paris |
Date | 13 Aug 1781 |
Description | Agreeing with his father's opinion regarding the letter sent to Jean François by Mr Vernède, who had suggested that commerce might not be the best option for him. Both father and son thought that Mr Vernède's comment was due to his mistaken belief that Jean François would be able to find another position easily, presumably with his father's help. Jean François then explains that he thought that Mlle L. might be romantically interested in him but he did not believe he shared the same feelings. The rest of the letter is devoted to providing information on the current state of the business. |
