Description | The research notes were created by Irena and Alma Leslie White, over nearly three decades. The couple owned a house called Berse Drelincourt in Caego, Wrexham, North Wales, which had been built for Pierre Drelincourt (1644-1722) and his wife Mary Maurice (c.1678-1755). Pierre was born in Paris, had to flee with his family and became Dean of Armagh in 1691. His father, Charles Drelincourt (1595-1669), was a well known Protestant divine. The papers consist of mostly copies of documents and typed research notes. The donors created a family tree and researched many of the individuals mentioned in it. In particular, details were sought on the family of Pierre Drelincourt, his wife Mary and her family, including their daughter Lady Ann Primrose (c.1709-1775), who was a Jacobite supporter and the sponsor of Flora Mc Donald. |
