DescriptionH/B/8/1 is very rough, whereas H/B/8/2-3 are much more legible. Details are sometimes interesting, e.g. 'pour mettre 1 lettre au penny post', 'du poisson pour le souper à ces Messieurs' (? the Management Committee), 'du spruce beer pour un domestick blessé', 'deux machines de paille (straw what-nots) pour mettre de plats dessus' (i.e. table-mats), 'des esprits de corne de cerf pour les watchmen ou la garde de la nuit' (spirits of harts-horn for the night watchmen), 'de la bière forte pour ceux qui tuent les cochons'.
