Description | Consists of Marie LeSoif's petition and a receipt for the bequest of Elizabeth Baudemont (at the back). Marie Le Soif, an over 70 year old widow, requests to be admitted. In 1734, Elizabeth Baudemont had left in her will £20 to the Hospital on condition that Marie Le Soif was to be admitted when she required it. Mme Le Soif is now unable to look after herself so would like to enter the Hospital. Signed by Elizabeth Baudemont's executors: Jaques Martell and Jean Perinat. A note in a different hand states that she was admitted and that her son lives in St John Street.
Elizabeth Baudemont left in her will £60 to the Hospital. This sum was to be used for specific reasons: £30 was left on condition that Pierre Baudemont was admitted, £20 was left on condition that Marie Le Soif was admitted, the remaining £10 was left to the poor of the institution. Mr Cabibel, a subgovernour, acknowledges receiving the funds from Jaques Martell and Jean Perrinat, executors of the will. |
