| Description | Marie Susanne Goudeau, a 72 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her parents, Jaques Goudeau and Susanne L Grand, were respectively from Poitou and Normandy. Marie Susanne was baptised on 1 January 1753 in the French Church of La Patente. She has also been a member of the French Church of St Jean for the past 56 years. She used to work in the silk industry but can no longer continue as her eyesight is too poor. A note in a different hand, signed by J L Chirol, Pastor of the French Church of St Jean, states that he had known Marie for 33 years and her character is beyond reproach. The petition is also signed by Gervais Baucher, Nicholas Jaques De La Mare, Jaques De La Mare, all Elders at the Church of St Jean; James Barbet and Marie Susanne Goudeau herself. |
