TitleFrançoise Devisme
Date17 Sep 1820
DescriptionFrançoise Devisme, a 60 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in London but her late grandfather, Abraham Devisme, was originally from Picardy. Françoise works in the silk industry but has suffered for the past 26 years of asthma and a persistent cough and for the past 14 years of rheumatism. As a result, she cannot work enough to be financially independent. A note by J L Chirol, Pastor, states that whilst he does not know Françoise, one of the Directors of the Hospital confirmed the contents of her petition. He also mentions that she cannot write and certifies that the mark on the petition is indeed hers. The petition is also signed by Pierre Guillemard, James Barbet, Joshua Lemare and Pierre Alavoine.
