Description | Marie Bennet, a 74 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in London but her late grandfather, Isaac Picard, was a Huguenot refugee. The region from which he come from in France is not given. Marie works in the silk industry but now suffers from gout, rheumatism, poor eyesight and has difficulties breathing. As a result, she can no longer work enough hours to be financially independent. The petition is signed by John Homes, Henry Abbott, John Prichard, Thomas Low, John Bissell (?)
