Description | Anne Johnson, a 62 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her father was Samuel Rosette, and her grandfather, also called Samuel, was a Huguenot refugee from Normandy. Anne became an orphan at five years old and was brought up in a parish house in St Anne, Soho. She was apprenticed to a warp knitter but has not been able to work in her profession due to poor eyesight for the past twenty years. She has nevertheless found employment in the silk industry. However, her eyesight is now worsening so she can no longer work. The petition is signed by Charles Scholl, Pastor; Jaque Mousset; Peter Fremont and Anne Johnson herself. |
