Description | Marie Anne Pernelle, a 68 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in Bernay, in the parish of Sainte-Croix, in Normandy. After her husband's death she decided to flee to England in 1792, to avoid religious persecution. She used to be a clothes merchant in France but had to abandon all her possessions when she left. A note in a different hand, by J L Chirol, Pastor of the French Church of Le Quarré, states that despite the loss of several documents, the content of the petition is true. The petition is also signed by Alex Sterky, Pastor; Charles Scholl, Pastor and Marie Anne Pernelle. |
