Acquisition | Anne Laborde, a 66 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her father was born in Navarre and her maternal grandfather was born in Saintonge. The latter died in the French Hospital in 1775. Anne has been a member of the French Church of London for over forty years. She has worked for forty years for Mr Packer as a warp knitter, but had to stop after an accident. She also suffers from severe asthma, especially in winter. The petition is signed by Charles Scholl, Pastor; Peter Le Blond; J Wenlock, Surgeaon; James Serry, Grocer and Richard Packer. Overleaf, a certificate from Dr Samuel Byles, confirms that he had visited Anne and thought she should be admitted, dated 5 August 1828, in English. |
