Description | Marie Madelaine Bazin, a 55 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her father was Pierre Du Bois and her grandfather, Jean Du Bois, was born in Normandy but moved to England to avoid religious persecution. Her paternal uncle and aunt were both residents of the French Hospital and passed away there. Marie suffers from several conditions including poor eyesight; as a result, she cannot find enough work as a silkweaver to be financially independent. The petition is signed by Marie Madelaine Bazin herself, C Daussy and Charles Battier. At the end, a note by Charles Scholl, Pastor, recommends the applicant. |
