TitleMarie Esther Paul
Date21 May 1834
DescriptionMarie Esther Paul, a 58 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her father was Jean Paul and her grandfather, also called Jean, was originally from Picardy. Marie suffers from rheumatism and poor eyesight so can no longer work enough to be financially independent. Furthermore, she is employed in the silk industry and the recent mechanisation of her work has led to a drastic reduction in pay and employment opportunities. The petition bears Marie Esther Paul's mark and is signed by William Lynes, Peter Fontaneau and Pierre Tessier.
