DescriptionPierre Gaillard, a 69 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. His parents were Marie Delivet and Daniel Gaillard, who was originally from Poitou but came to England to avoid religious persecution. Pierre attended the French School of London, probably the Westminster French Protestant School and went to Sunday School at the French Church of London. He is a messenger for Mr Wainwright, a maker of musical instruments and for a painter of carriages, also called Wainwright. Pierre suffers from a severe hernia and cannot increase his workload so is struggling be financially independent.
Overleaf, a note by J L Chirol, Pastor Emeritus of the French Church of St Jean, states that the content of the petition is truthful and that he strongly recommends Pierre Gaillard's admission. The petition is signed by Pierre Gaillard himself, Pierre Beau, Thomas Bertrand, Pierre Bertrand and N J De La Mare.
