| Description | Elisabeth Levesque, a 53 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her father, Daniel Levesque, was originally from Normandy. Elisabeth suffers from poor eyesight and general fatigue so can no longer work as a silkweaver. The petition bears Elisabeth Levesque's mark and is signed by Pierre Fontaneau. A note in English in a different hand, by Samuel Byles, confirms her condition but states that she is able to look after herself, dated 17 February 1838.
