| Description | Ann Thompson, a 62 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her grandfather, Nathaniel Dupere, was originally from Lyon but had to flee to England to avoid religious persecution. Ann's husband, Isaac Thompson, was a weaver who died in November 1839. Due to poor health, Ann cannot work and be financially independent. The petition is signed by Ann Thompson herself, John Bloom, Peter Girault, James Hill & Co. and Charles Farr.
