Description | Eleanora Eastwood, a 61 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her late husband, Joseph Eastwood, was a Commander in the Royal Navy. Her mother, Ann Davie, was a resident of the French Hospital, where she died in March 1829. Her grandfather, John Delatour, was a Huguenot refugee. Eleanora has not been able to claim the usual pension for widows of Officers and is therefore unable to be financially independent. The petition is signed by Eleanora Eastwood herself, Frederick Palmer, Mrs Sterky, Thomas Baker and seven others. The addresses and professions of all signatories are given. |
