TitleJean Leschallas
Date12 Jan 1832
DescriptionJean Leschallas, a 64 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. His father and grandfather were both called Jean, and the latter was born in France, but the petitioner does not know in which region. His maternal grandfather passed away whilst living at the French Hospital, about 50 years prior to the petition being made. Jean's father was an Elder at the French Church of St Jean for several years and the petitioner as well as his late sister were also members of this church. However, Jean had to stop contributing to the the Church of St Jean due to lack of funds. He is an artist but can no longer work due to his worsening eyesight. The petition is signed by Jean Leschalles himself, Peter Fremont, J Leschallas (not the petitioner), J R Le Mare, Philip Chabot, Abraham Frebout and John Dubois.
