TitleJean Courcher
Date27 May 1769
DescriptionJean Courcher, a 62 year old widower, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born in London, but his late father, Jacques Courcher, was originally from Rouen, in Normandy. Jean is a silk weaver, but suffers from severe pains all over his body and his eyesight is poor, so he can no longer work. His wife died ten days previously after a long illness, which required him to spend substantial sums. As a result, he is now destitute. The petition is signed by Samuel Pavan, Pastor at the French Church of La Patente; B Rosselloty, Secretary and Paul Turquand, Elder.
